Toby Blomé and Fred Bialy have been active in the Bay Area Scandinavian folk music & dance community for about 35 and 45 years respectively; Both have attended dozens of Scandinavian workshops, festivals, camps and ongoing classes locally, nationally and abroad in Sweden and Norway, studying under the top Scandia tradition bearers. As a couple, they manage a monthly Scandia folk dance party in El Cerrito, enjoy teaching the dance workshops before each party, and are returning as Lark instructors for the 5th or 6th time. Both love playing the nyckelharpa, the Swedish national folk instrument. Fred also plays fiddle.
