Solos in the Middle Eastern Diaspora For All Instruments

Learning tunes from Turkey, or Lebanon, or any of the number of countries touched by the Middle East’s influence is essential for understanding the music, but soloing is where you feel the music’s energy. This workshop will teach how to improve your solos. We will learn tunes from the Middle East as well as countries impacted by the Middle Eastern musical system. We will learn how to improvise to different rhythms and what those rhythms are. We’ll also cover concepts of soloing, and what you can do to play one with cohesion and direction.
