Folk Song Repertoire

In Shay’s repertory workshop, you’ll learn Irish, Scottish, chorus songs, and sea shanties. Shay encourages learning to sing by ear and repetition, so no background knowledge of music theory is necessary. He works from the premise of, “If you can hum it, you can sing it”. Shay will teach 4 – 5 songs per class, and provide handouts of each song’s lyrics. Each day, we make time to review songs sung on the day before.
