Heath Curdts

Heath Curdts is a patient, encouraging teacher and has taught countless new and experienced players for nearly 50 years privately and at festivals and camps such as the Festival of American Fiddle Tunes, Pinewoods Camp, CBA Music Camp, Walker Creek Music Camp, and at most Lark Camps since 1980.

Heath started playing the banjo as a teenager in Virginia. Initially self-taught, he learned much of his music directly from older traditional players, especially Tommy Jarrell in North Carolina, with whom he studied intensively. Heath has recorded on Rounder, Heritage, and Swallow Records and has performed with Tommy Jarrell, Benton Flippen, Franklin George, Jody Stecher, Mike Seeger, and other stellar musicians.
